There was a lot of anxiety coming out here and not knowing anyone as a huge introvert and being surrounded by people. But it's been so great getting to disconnect and connecting with people and just the different conversations and opinions.
It’s just a genuine connection that you get when you disconnect from all the other pressures of life.
I think the thing that I've been the most surprised about in this adventure is how remote we are and yet how many conveniences we have, and we don't feel like we're in the middle of nowhere 20 miles from the nearest person. So it's quite amazing how people can be so sustainable off grid and have everything that you actually need, which is not very much.
Oh, the thing I've learned the most about myself is that I actually don't need to be alone as much as I think I do. I really enjoy being around people and the connection and just how much I enjoy relaxing and downtime. I always see myself as a huge city person but learned that I also love and could get used to this lifestyle and I didn't realize I could.
I think the thing I've enjoyed the most about being here is experiencing new things and just how many different things are out there that we don't do at home and how fun they can be. The ride out here was incredible ripping through the mud, seeing animals and out on the water fishing. It's just been a lot of fun.
I would come back to see everything else that Alaska has to offer. Go out and do more outdoor adventures, see what else is out there, maybe go fishing on the river. I would just come back to see it all.
